Our new schools programme for 2025/6

Our new learning programme aims to bring the co-operative story to life and provide learners of all ages with opportunities to discover and explore. We offer traditional school visits, bespoke workshops, loans boxes, free resources and more.

Primary School Workshops - Key Stage 1 and 2

  • We welcome schools to the museum and can offer Mondays and Tuesdays for exclusive use
  • We can come to your school  - anywhere in UK (this is often cheaper than coach travel) 
  • You can hire a loan box to engage with the co-operative past and principles

Free resources for Key Stage 1 and 2

These free resources aimed at teachers and learning providers are filled with ideas to bring the Rochdale Pioneers into your classroom. 

Who were the Rochdale Pioneers? Teacher's Guide - Use this guide to introduce the Rochdale Pioneers to your classroom.

Take one: hobnail boots - Teacher's Guide - This resource takes just one object from our collection and provides guidance to build activities and projects around it.

Creative writing prompts - This resource has printable worksheets for your pupils to create their own pieces of creative writing.

For Secondary Schools and Adult Learners (KS3 +)

We can offer bespoke sessions for secondary schools and we're always looking for new ways to engage with secondary learners. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss any ideas or needs with us at [email protected].

We can offer BESPOKE sessions covering co-operatives and citizenship as well as sessions for adult learners about the difference between co-ops, collectives and B-Corps, as well as to complement literacy and ESOL (English as a second language).
