Case studies

Community Outreach programmes at Rochdale Pioneers Museum

In order to make the culture and heritage of co-operation more impactful for local people, we empower them to learn new skills, meet and work with one another to put the values and principles of the Pioneers into action.

We believe that when people work together they can achieve long lasting change.

Our Young Advisers Group

In 2019 we were funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to work with local Young People to open up our heritage. From the project a core group was created to help us to change the way we share our stories and find creative ways to engage with audiences.

From the start of 2020 the Group has met at the museum after hours and digitally in the Spring to come up with ideas to improve the experience of visitors. We are working on a project to choose new objects for display and help our young people understand more about how museums and heritage charities work.

The group get together every month and is a friendly and safe space to be creative and meet new people. New members are welcomed and encouraged to be part of the group. Just email us for more details [email protected]
